Particles

Particle Size %

Particle Size at 10%
Particle Size at 500%

Base render size as a percentage (10 to 500%, default 100%).

Size from Velocity %

Size from Velocity at -100% (slow = big)
Size from Velocity at 100% (fast = big)

Makes fast particles bigger and slow ones smaller (-100 to 100%, default 0). Negative values invert: slow particles bigger.

Size Randomness %

Size Randomness at 0%
Size Randomness at 100%

Per-particle random size variation at spawn (0 to 100%, default 0). At 100%, particle size at birth varies between 0% and 200% of base.

Size Map Layer

Optional AE layer whose brightness multiplies particle size at that pixel position. Black areas = invisible particles; white = full size.

Full Lifetime

Full Lifetime on (particles persist)
Full Lifetime off (particles age and die)

When on (default), particles live forever. When off, particles are born, age, and die, unlocking the lifetime controls below.

Lifetime (s)

Lifetime at 30 seconds

Seconds each particle lives before disappearing (0 to 30, default 5). Only used when Full Lifetime is off.

Lifetime Randomness %

Lifetime Randomness at 100%

Per-particle random variation on Lifetime (0 to 100%, default 0). At 100%, actual lifetime varies between 0% and 200% of the base value.

Birth Size / Death Size

Birth 0%, Death 100% (grows over life)
Birth 100%, Death 0% (shrinks over life)

Scale multipliers at birth and death (0 to 500%, default 100% each). E.g., 0% birth + 100% death = particles fade in size-wise.

Size Change Start %

Size Change Start at 0% (starts immediately)
Size Change Start at 90% (starts near end)

What portion of each particle's life passes before it starts shrinking to Death Size (0 to 99%, default 0). 50% = hold Birth Size for the first half, then shrink.

Fade In / Fade Out

Fade In at 1 s, no Fade Out
Fade Out at 1 s, no Fade In

Seconds at the start / end of a particle's life over which its alpha ramps 0 to 1 / 1 to 0 (0 to 5 sec each, default 0).

Disc (default round dot), Square (pixel-y look), Trail (short motion-history tail — see Trail Length / Width below for tuning), Metaball (particles blend smoothly into surfaces, great for water / slime).

Trail Length / Width

Seconds of history drawn behind each particle (0 to 2, default 0.3) and line width in pixels (1 to 10, default 2). Only in Trail mode.

Metaball Threshold / Radius

Threshold 1.5, Radius 100% (thin surface)
Threshold 0.3, Radius 400% (thick surface)

Threshold controls the isolevel (0 to 2, default 0.6). Radius is the blob radius per particle (50 to 500%, default 200%). Lower Threshold = thicker fluid; higher Radius = smoother surfaces.
